I really want to shift the way we think about great design, away from just a good user experience, or a pleasing visual. To me, design is a revenue generator, an indirect sales channel, and the influencer of whether your business's goals and user goals convert potential customers into buyers, users, or loyalists.

When I sit down with a client, regardless of whether they're a real estate agency, a tech or web3 scale-up, a service business, a consultancy, or a beverage brand, I believe it's my job to return, at the bare minimum, 100% of your investment in designing with me via customer conversion.

For example, if you have a beverage brand, design is completely driving your sales through the product messaging and visuals, so that in the split second it is glanced at, a customer stops to pick it up and purchases it. That's all design baby! And if your product/service isn't converting, it's probably also a design problem.

I encourage you to get curious about design at your organization: down to your business cards, your email design, your website, your social media, or the features you're currently working on in your products - how does everything design tie back to strategy or revenue? I believe you have one shot at impressing and offering value to prospective customers, does your design take advantage of that one shot?

By the way, design solves for so many needs like accessibility, engagement, and education. Being that there is usually an underlying and strategic monetary driver to those needs like donations, endowments, and sales, design deserves a strategic and respected seat at your table.
